My passion for Creative direction developed during my degree and from working with other Creative Directors during my career. When starting my photography journey I soon realised that I didn’t just have a passion for taking photos but that I also loved the planning and creative process.
So, what is a Creative director? They are a key part of any shoot, they’re the lead creative working closely with clients to produce their desired content. Their job is to design the concept and plan all aspects of the shoot including sourcing all other creatives that are needed such as a stylist or MUA.
I believe it’s important to build trust with my clients and understand clearly their objectives and goals for the work we will be producing. I take on board all the information a client has to offer! By sharing visions and inspirations I can then create various concepts which are presented to the client. We then build on the concept that the client believes represents their vision best.
I will then develop a more in-depth concept, planning sets, choosing looks as well as sourcing other creatives to bring on board. I do this all whilst working closely with the client to make sure they’re happy with all the decisions that are being made. Once we have our team, I focus on all the final details that help a shoot run smoothly this includes a shooting schedule.
On the day of a shoot, I will always create an uplifting environment allowing everyone on set to feel at ease. This helps keep creative energy high and ensures everyone is on best form in order to produce the best possible outcome. Another aspect is Post production, I again will work closely with the client so that the final product will be to a high standard and fit the clients needs.
I offer Creative Direction services alongside and separate to my role as a photographer, for more information, please get in touch!
